The Mad River Valley in Vermont is the birthplace of Wilcox & Barton, Inc., where President and Principal Geologist, Bill Wilcox, went to high school and established the first Wilcox & Barton office in 2000.  Although the company has continued to expand throughout New England, employees who work in the Moretown, Vermont office truly love the tight-knit community and family-friendly environment that the Valley provides.

Wilcox & Barton, Inc. frequently supports area businesses as well as the Mad River Path’s annual “Mad Dash” race and the community’s vision to make the Valley more pedestrian friendly.  Most recently, Vice President of Civil Engineering Services, Peter Lazorchak, donated his time and services to help incorporate a boardwalk along Carroll Road in Waitsfield as part of the Mad River Path’s 2018 Irasville project.  The project will allow for pedestrian travel between Lawson's Finest Liquids and the Big Picture Theater to a crosswalk on Route 100. This 250 foot section of trail will help connect dozens of area businesses and will provide a great link between the commercial and historic districts of Waitsfield.

“It is great that Wilcox & Barton has been able to provide engineering support to the Mad River Path organization,” says Lazorchak.  “My kids and I love to ride our bikes on the new Waitsfield School section of the path, and it’s exciting to see the progress that has been made in recent years.  I’m grateful to be able to give back to our community and support projects that bring people together.”
