Indefinite Quality Design Contracts for U.S. Government

Wilcox & Barton, Inc. has teamed with the global organization, Stantec Consulting Services, on 15 years’ worth of Indefinite Quantity Design Contracts for the U.S. Government.  Both Stantec and the U.S. Military have relied on our team to be the Hazardous Materials Consultant for proposed renovation/demolition projects at military bases spanning from Maine to Florida.  We have contributed to the demolition, renovation and/or rebuilding of power plants, hospitals, office buildings, mechanical and electrical systems, fire protection systems, laboratory buildings, airport hangars, berthing piers, and dozens of other facilities throughout the years.

For each project, project-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) submittals were prepared in accordance with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual (EM 385-1-1).  Wilcox & Barton, Inc. performed comprehensive surveys of buildings, piers, and/or berths were performed to identify asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), lead-based paint (LBP), and materials containing polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs).

Survey results were detailed in precise site specific Hazardous Materials Survey reports.  Following completion of the reports, Wilcox & Barton, Inc. prepared a comprehensive set of contract documents (i.e., Basis of Design, cost estimates, specifications and plans) for the abatement of asbestos and lead and the disposal of light ballasts containing PCBs and fixtures containing mercury.  Abatement design drawings and specifications were prepared for contractor bidding in accordance with the specific contract drawing standards.
