David JP Foss
Drawn to the environmental profession by his love of the outdoors, David’s focus has been on the remediation and redevelopment of petroleum-contaminated and hazardous waste sites. Finding great satisfaction in the revitalization of urban neighborhoods and the social benefits of economic revitalization, David has concentrated on redeveloping underutilized brownfield sites. With over 21 years’ experience, David is an expert in brownfields incentive programs, brownfields policy, and hydrogeology. He identifies and implements solutions for projects involving difficult regulatory and technical issues. He has worked with municipalities, developers, property owners, planning agencies, and regulators to develop properties with challenging environmental histories amid overlapping regulatory programs. David leads the Brownfield Redevelopment practice, connecting a broad range of public and private development interests. David is a Certified Professional Geologist and Licensed Site Professional in Massachusetts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology from Colgate University and a master’s degree in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
